The Challenge
Devise a strategy for a national park, to encourage the public to connect with nature and to increase well-being.
The Solution:
Based on the 5 stages of wellbeing: Take Note, Be Active, Keep Learning, Give Back, Connect and using an activities-based approach, Winterbrooke National Park would encourage its visitors to explore the natural and cultural heritage that surrounds them. This would be facilitated using a welcome pack consisting of a deck of Nature Cards that outline the species of flora and fauna that people would come across. Furthermore, a field guide would encourage people to step away from their screens to then connect with their environment by taking notes, sketching, and creating diagrams.
This would encourage its visitors to take ownership over their environment, and to reconnect with how the place in which they stand has evolved over the decades and centuries through a (fictional) mythology that is woven into the activities attendees would take part in.

Where the rolling hills lead to paths untouched.
Your journey starts at Winterbrooke. Where the stone is Jurassic, and the legends date back to when the Celts believed the Winter Woods were occupied by faeries. This is a place where dragons were slayed and knights sought treasure, where witches roamed, and where the land is sacred.
